Green Tuesday

Each year I buy one Christmas decoration for my tree. This year I found this pretty, plump pigeon and couldn't resist him! Isn't he gorgeous?

I really think he will be too heavy for my Christmas tree (which I still haven't put up yet, I know, I know, Christmas is next week, at least we have our corrugated iron one up!), so I think he will be sitting in my windowsill all year round. I love his little tail.

Busy day today, off to work now then out tonight with friends. I'm taking my pavlova for dessert, here it is undressed (just before eating I will top it with cream, raspberries and shavings of dark Lindt chocolate, yum!). Pavlova has to be the easiest dessert to make. This one is simply 6 egg whites whipped up with 2 cups castor sugar and will feed about 16 people. Never any leftovers!

I love the green Sandi Henderson fabric it's sitting on. What's your favourite green thing at your house? xo

Yes he is so cute and should be up all year round to admire. Where is the currugated iron tree? I was just thinking the other day that, we will be meeting soon in May! How exciting!!! Hugs Natima

What an adorable bird. He deserves to be out all year round. I've never made a pavlova before because they seem a little daunting. Maybe I should try your recipe.

Love the ceramic bird ornament. I would leave it out year round also. The colors remind me of something my mother would have loved.
Have fun with your friends, and if it makes you feel any better, we just decorated our tree last night.

My favorite green things are the frames I have around a few Carl Larsson prints. Love them!:)

He's adorable! Definitely a year-round ornament. My favorite green thing in the house? That's hard since green is my favorite color and is found in such abundance here. I'm thinking though of a certain stacking ring set that has a lovely green stone. That is quite mesmerizing as a green item! :-) Hmm, pavlova. It always looks and sounds so amazingly difficult. I'll have to give it a try. I just dumped a batch of homemade marshmallows into a pan to dry. Worried myself that I'd finally killed the mixer.

Really cute ornament. I am sure it will be just fine on your tree. I have never heard of Pavlova, but how you describe it makes it sound just yummy! This is going to sound strange but my favorite thing that is green in my house is my mudroom area. The lower portion of the wall is painted hunter green and I just love it!

Pavlova just sounds so exotic and difficult...are you sure it is that easy to make?! My favorite green in the house has got to be the set of tea cups my Dad brought back from France when his singing group toured there back in the 1950's. After that it would have to be my rubber boots that have gotten lots of wear the past few months....

Love the little dove! In my favourite colour too - green!!

I have sooo many green things that I have to give each a bit of a rotation - too many to have out all at once - LOL!!

My favourite green though is outside my loungeroom window - my gorgeous green trees, grass and vines!!

I always make a pav for Christmas - I take it to my Grandparents place on Christmas Eve (she is 96!!). Very easy and delicious!!

You've made me hungry! >:(

Love the bird...he's adorable! We just got our trees into the house last night so I'm right there with you.

I have a little, well not really little, green bench in my living room. I'm rather fond of it. I've tried to take pictures for my blog but the lighting is so bad in that room...

Of course the pigeon is too heavy for your tree, Cathy - he'd be so much more comfortable at my house, lol! I just adore him/her!
