Love, Romance and Tumblers!

Border 2 is now finished. I wish I could take a better picture to show these gorgeous fabrics off to you, trust me when I say it looks really good in real life, I'm very happy with it!!!

The squares on point have made a fun border and they sewed up pretty quickly. I love the distraction the Amy Butler solids bring to the quilt....to give the eye a small place to rest from all that Love-ly busy-ness!

The next border will take some time with a lot more applique to be done.

Check out what arrived in the mail this week - a beautiful parcel from Jackie over at Canton Village Quilt Works. Jackie has a wonderful online shop, which is where I saw this fabulous idea...pre-cut tumblers in Kaffe!!!

What a great idea for a very quick and easy quilt, they look great all laid out together don't you think? There are even some Kaffe's in here that I don't own yet! Jackie even has some gorgeous Aunt Grace 1930 tumblers in her shop at the moment, I'm being tempted! (I love that these come already cut out, sometimes it feels good to have the cutting done for you!).

Thank you Jackie, and I love the selvedges and pattern you sent me too - beautiful!

I'm hoping to get busy with some prep work over the next few days cause on Thursday we are going camping for 9 days, yay!!! I will pop in here before we go. See you soon xo

The medaillon is looking so pretty!

Those thumblers are gorgeous. My LQS sells them as well, but the fabrics they use are not quite my taste, so I better check Jackie’s online shop!

Gorgeous LOVE quilt. The splash of solids really add a little spark to an already beautiful quilt. Jackie is so generous. I've not tried a tumbler quilt yet but pre-cuts are the way to go.

It looks glorious Cathy - can't wait to see the next border. And the tumblers precut - what a great idea. I've often thought we should say we're cutting rather than sewing, but these should give you more time to sew!

Hi Cathy, So glad your order was received and that you are happy with them. The tumblers just look gorgeous laid out like that! Can't wait to see it all done. Thanks for putting my links up, it is much appreciated. Your love and romance quilt is just absolutely stunning!! Your work is always so inspirational and done to perfection. I love it!!

Beautiful! The Love fabrics are singing in that gorgeous pattern! I've been pondering Jackie's pre-cut tumblers and her pre-cut circles...ponder, ponder, ponder. Camping, huh? For nine days, you say? Electricity? Running water? Etc.? :-)

The LOVE quilt is coming along beautifully! And I agree, pictures never do justice to a quilt.
Isn't that Jackie just the nicest lady? Kaffe tumblers! Great idea!

The quilt is amazing! Isn't it fun to wing it? I really like the tumblers out of Kaffe too. My friend used Kaffe to make a lone star and it turned out amazing too. But then, what doesn't turn out well with Kaffe? That should be his slogan!! LOL

LOL -- I was looking at those precut tumblers, too. I just adore tumbler quilts but have never made one -- yet. I would love to do one with my AB Love fabrics, but someone on flickr already did one, and I don't want her to think I am copying her. Speaking of AB Love, your quilt is fabulous! I love the squares on point and the solids!

This is what started me on my tumbler obsession as well. Lucky for me a friend has the same machine so every time i cut fabric I cut enough for a tumbler.
