Humble Square top finished

Ok, so this is the design I went with in the end....
I decided I would go with the squares on point, diamonds are just timeless don't you think? Floral fabrics in downward stripes and solid fabrics in horizontal stripes across the quilt.
Philip Jacobs floral fabrics are just stunning, they have so much colour and detail I could look at them for hours.
Kaffe's shot cottons make this quilt so soft and drapey...I'm thinking I will need to handquilt this one, simple straight lines should do.
I received my last fabric order today(last one for this month anyway!). My Kaffe ombres had arrived from Glorious Colour. Mrs Schmenkman had told me how gorgeous these fabrics were...and she was not kidding! Subtle stripes covered in little dots....you can't get much better than that!
Speaking of the stash, for the past couple of months my stash has been a disaster...a fabric vomit as the gorgeous Cardygirl puts it...fabric everywhere but on the shelves where it is supposed to be. Yesterday I had a cleaning day and now I have taken a photo to remind myself what my stash should look like. I don't know how long this will last but hey, its always fun to play with fabric, even if it is just to clean it up!

That looks so fabulous - can't wait to see how you quilt it - are you going to use DMC? I am busy quilting my diagonal madness and I am really going to struggle to hand it over to my mum - the book had the quilt hand quilted but I knew it would take me four years so I'm machining it. My sorry little stash sits in a shoe box - one day it dreams of looking as lovely as yours!

Love your setting choice. Will you big stitch or regular hand quilt? Another beauty, Cathy. Wow, that's a stash. I spent the weekend organizing mine. Somehow gremlins keep getting in there messing it up!

All that fabric - oh my! Love the Kaffe ombre photo - looks so much better than the shots from the fabric shops. And, the diamond layout for that quilt was perfect. Thanks for your blog as I enjoy reading it, though do not comment much.

I love your quilt - your colours and fabric combination are so effective.
WOW your stash is amazing and so neatly stacked. If mine looked like that I would just drool all day and probably not get much work done.

The quilt design is gorgeous - I love the soft diamonds and rich colors. And your stash is full of luscious fabrics- so yummy to look at- One of my favorite books is a book by Freddy Moran and Gwen Marston called Collaborative Quilting - They have so many great colors and Red is Freddy's neutral color. If you do not know the book, you may want to check it out.
I am in Love with Kaffe Fassett fabrics right now. They are yummy.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt.
Regards,
Anna
