Pinch Me I'm Dreaming!

Kaffe Fassett has inspired me for 26 years with his passion for colour. On Tuesday I had the privilege of meeting him! I flew up to Sydney and stayed with the gorgeous Kim McLean who was having a dinner party for Kaffe and Brandon Mably who are currently taking classes across Australia.
L-R front row: Sharron (Dragonfly Gypsy), Kim McLean, Kaffe Fassett.
L-R back row: Sue, Brandon Mably, Janet (Quiltsalott), me!, Kathy (Material Obsession)

It was a dream come true to meet these very talented people and there was show and tell...
I alway knew Kim was an incredibly talented quilter, but seeing her quilts 'in the flesh' was a fabulous experience.
Janet and I have been emailing for a couple of years now and it was great to finally meet her
Janet brought her Stars & Sprigs quilt (a Kim Mclean pattern) and it is amazing.
Janet has been teaching herself to quilt, can I say, she is definitately not quilting at a beginner level, her quilting is incredible.
Of course I had to take my Fassetted Mosaic quilt to show...
I think they liked it.

Thank you Kim for a wonderful night. Now I am home again, I think it was all a wonderful dream!

I know e-xac-tly what you feel, Cathy, but with another "guru"! The french embellishment embroideress Léa Stansal who I have met last week in her workplace and with whom I had 2 marvellous days of continuous stitching...
And it feels so unrealistic great:))))

How exciting for you and for us! Thanks for sharing photos of the fun. I'm sure the excitement would have killed me, and there wouldn't have been any photographic evidence to prove I'd even been there. You most definitely belong with that gang of creative kindred spirits as evidenced by your own beautiful quilt under which, I might note, you and Mr. Mably seem to have succumbed to much silliness. That Brandon is quite the 'stitch' and 'cut-up' and you're right there with him. What could make more sense for a couple of our favorite quilters? Love it!
