Blogging?

It's funny, I haven't blogged much this month and now I feel as though I'm out of the habit of it. So tonight I thought I need to just say something to get me back into it. But what?

I could show you some photo's of my finally finished Japanese x and + quilt...

but this is the only pic I have taken, so I won't show you that.

I could show the eggs that were pulling funny faces at me in my kitchen yesterday...

they were so mischievious...

so I cracked it and whipped their butts...

and now there is nothing to show...

Or, I could show you what my design wall has looked like over the past two weeks. It all started off with a few 2 1/2 inch squares of gorgeous Folksy Flannel. I wanted to make a 25 patch quilt, but I wasn't sure how I wanted it to look. I tried a diagonal 25 patch...

But I didn't like it. Next was an on point 25 patch...

Better, but a little boring perhaps! Ok how about an on point scrappy 25 patch...

Ok, I'm going with this one. But...I can't show you any more of this either cause I haven't finished sewing it yet.

So, perhaps, I won't show you anything after all. I hope you have all had a much more productive week than me. (And perhaps I shouldn't blog when I'm in a strange mood!!). Hope to be back soon with something good to show. xo

What a fun post! I LOVE your x and + quilt and the way you're playing with the squares. Isn't that last version in one of Kaffe's books? My favorite I think?
You even have fun eggs! :)

Everyone should have such strange moments. Even in your strange space you can be creative. It is always two steps forward, one step back...looks like the eggs were struggling also! lol

Isn't it fun how blocks change when you put them on-point! Fun post...

Funny! I've been in the same kind of mood, hardly blogging, feeling moody, sewing some x and + blocks, making some scrap vomit blocks, and some baby quilts. I love your final decision on the last blocks you posted pics of!

Well you have showed enough to let us know that you have been doing things. Maybe when you have more time we will get a full blown report. Maybe.

Despite not seeing much over here, I do love this post and all the wonderful photos. If you're not blogging, you're sewing so that's a good thing and what a ta dah with the + and x quilt, it looks fabulous as does the one on the wall. I think you hit on the best setting there.

Yep, I agree with you. The scrappy squares on point look the best although I like the 2nd choice as well.
The Japanese blocks are fabulous. I really like that you used random colours for the blocks instead of the same background colour throughout.

Love the 24 patch the way you have decided to do it. Looks lovely and scrambled and a riot of colour.

Just love your Japanese x and + quilt. I know that you decided on something different, but I really liked the diagonal 25 patch (1st pic). I can't wait to see a finished picture of this quilt. Is it difficult to work with small squared flannels?

I'm in love with that Cross-X block quilt!! So fabulous. I've already been pulling prints for one of my own. You are an inspiration.

Thanks!

I haven't been blogging much lately either. I just have so much going on in my life at the moment, that blogging has had to take a back seat. LOVE the scrappy 25 block... can't wait to see where that one goes!
