Green

My star quilt is still growing, albeit very slowly now that it has become so big.

For those who haven't seen this before, I am English paper piecing this quilt and hand stitching each square and diamond together, row by row.

Back of the star quilt, with papers still attached along outer row.
These get removed when the next row is added.

The hand stitching is very relaxing to do.

I have three more rows to go before I start to square this quilt up. Next up...pink diamonds!

This is one of my favorite projects of yours! It the pattern called a lone star? I really want to make one for my youngest sons wedding as a back drop to the gazebo where they will exchange their vows. Where did you get the pattern? I know...I am starting be like a pesky bee!

Cathy, this is just gorgeous! What size are those squares? I'm just finishing up an english paper pieced grandmothers flower garden, but I still have the paper piecing bug. They are so addicting. This looks like it would be fun for my next hand piecing project.

It looks beautiful! Are you going to leave it this shape? It would make a fantastic tablecloth!

Stunning! It's absolutely magical. Will it be a round quilt, or are you doing something with the design to create sides?

This is beautiful! I love it!
You are my big inspiration in this
projekt. I started a star quilt after you started your one. The hand stiching is so relaxing and I just love working with it. But mine will take a lot longer to finish.
Thanks!

Oh my gosh Cathy, how brilliant! Strange, I'm also doing a star quilt 60° triangles, but mine is so UGLY compared to yours! I wonder if I could ever do this one!
This one shows so much imagination and talent! I'm putting this in my "want to make" file.

This is so lovely! Great choice of fabrics. I also really liked your flannel quilt. Guess I love the "scrappy" look because I so often work in solids.
best, nadia

Every row makes it more beautiful. I remember doing the outer edges and they took took so much time! It is certainly worth it though.

Wonderful! I like the idea of piecing in a single large unit instead of pp all those tiny flowers (which is what I did!). It's going to be a spectacular quilt.

This is beautiful! I would love to try this - is there a pattern out there with instructions on how to do this - which paper pieces to purchase (sizes that fit) etc so I can start one also with my scraps? Yours is so pretty!
