The bag underneath the book in the above pic is full of the wonderful block of the month patterns and fabrics for this very quilt. I was so thrilled to get this pattern when it was a bom a couple of years ago, and even more thrilled to now have the pattern all set out in this gorgeous booklet, including some colour photo's of quilt and blocks.
Gorgeous fabrics from Green Tea and Sweet Beans bom.
Fabrics for starter kit will be a little different
but handpicked by Jen so equally awesome!
I put my bom aside back then because I wasn't confident at hand sewing and I really wanted to do this quilt completely by hand. However now that I have the whole pattern together in this booklet, and with the encouragement from my new local stitch group (will have to tell you about them another time!), I'm ready to start! The bom hasn't been around for some time now, but you can get your copy of the Green Tea and Sweet Beans booklet here, and Jen is putting together a starter fabric kit, keep an eye out here for that!
Now the BORDER. I can show a little, teeny sneak peak of my second quilt for a magazine.
Some of you may recognise it, but I won't show anymore until the magazine is released. It will be in Homespun magazine, February 2013!! issue. Eeep!
And lastly... my BOMBASTIC Giveaway! Why bombastic? Cause to be poetic I needed a B in my title, and this giveaway consists of fabrics with words and text. Do you think I could think of any word beginning with B that has anything to do with words except Bombastic? Yes I know, you will all be able to think of a much better word (see if you can!) and you had better leave it in a comment.
Bombastic: adjective
(of speech, writing, etc.) high-sounding; high-flown; inflated;pretentious. Flowery, verbose, too many words to express an idea!!
Yes, it's sounding a little verbose around here already! To make a long story short, I want to giveaway some wordy, texty fabrics.
A couple of the gorgeous new Madrona Road texts, 2 out of print seed catalogue,
a text fabric from spoonflower, beautiful blue Penelope,
lovely labels from the dressmaking collection and tea cups also from Penelope.
There are eight, 8inch x width of fabric pieces (over 1 1/2 metres), all with words or text except for one. Sit and have a cuppa while you read your fabric!!
My giveaway is to specially thank my followers, I would have given up on blogging long ago if not for you! Let me know you are a follower I will give you two chances at winning. Leave a comment on this post and I will draw a winner next Saturday 18th Aug (Australia time). xo
Giveaway now closed!

I LOVE words on fabric..what a great post and great pile of fabbies!
Oh no, YOU can never give up, Cathy!!! I love your blog and most of all I love your quilts:)
My first use of word fabric was Sunkissed in Jan/Feb. I really liked it so would enjoy using this giveaway prize. I took on your challenge and the two words I found are not as strong in meaning as bombastic. They are beautified (adding lots of flowery exaggerated words) and bathetic (along the lines of talking too much like a fool). So, your choice is excellent.
Thanks for the giveaway.
One of the first quilts I ever made was a BOM. They are fun and this one looks really lovely. Your quilt sneaky peak is very pretty. Wordy fabrics...love 'em. I am a follower. BAM!
I am a follower. I really like your blog, with all the great projects! The giveaway fabric bundle is just wonderful!
