Fabric shopping of course!!!
Recently I discovered on instagram that two lovely friends have opened an etsy fabric shop yay! Called
Polka Dot Tea Fabrics, Danielle and Jeannette are stocking their lovely shop with wonderful Japanese fabrics and others. A few days ago this divine bundle found it's way to my door...
Isn't it stunning? A fat quarter bundle of Japanese linen/cotton blend by Kei. It has a lovely hand and will be perfect for cutting into quilts, bags, whatever!!
Now my little fat quarter pile smells like the thyme they have been sitting on for their photo shoot...yummy!
Also arriving at my door was another installment of luscious Liberty's from
Amitie's Stash club. This has been a fabulous way to get little squares of Liberty, mine are being saved up for something special one day!
On Friday I drove up to
Amitie (I am very fortunate that I can drive there, even if it is an hour away, it is so well worth the trip). Bumping into lovely friends there (Andi -
Patchandi who is blogging again yay!, Judy -
A Very Fine House, Miriam -
Yellow Roses), I did come away with a few extra's to add to my stash...
The perle 8 threads are my second lot in these colours for my kantha like quilt (
Flower Garden) that I am still slowly working on, 1/4 inch row at a time. It will be time for some more photo's and an update of this one very soon!
And talking of fabric shopping, Emma and Sarah (Treehouse Textiles) and I ran into Kathy Doughty (
Material Obsession) at AQM the other day. Did you catch up on the news she has her first fabric range being released in January? Called A Wandering Mind (I love it), the colours are saturated and beautiful and remind me of her! You can see them on the wall and in the quilt in front of us and read more about them
here.
Congratulations Kathy!
Phew, a busy fabric week! I will leave you with a photo of the perfectly pink Peonies my friend bought me the other day...stunning! xo
